Draft Of Final Cover

This is my first draft of the school magazine cover using In Design and Photoshop. I've decided edit it again because there's to much blank space above the main image, I think I'll also change the texts size and font.

Magazine Cover Draft Analysis

Masthead
I named my magazine 'KHS' because the purpose of the magazine is to provide news, information and entertainment for the pupils and teachers of King Henry VIII School. I chose yellow and black because those are the schools colours and I made it big and bold to stand out.

Pug and Slogan
This pug is fairly simple but I think it would grab the
attention of year 7's and would hopefully attract them to buying the magazine. I chose to use this slogan because I think it is catchy and easy to remember and hopefully it grabs the target markets attention.

Sell lines
I used these sell lines to try interest the reader and used lines that I think would appeal to the target market. I tried to make these sell lines stand out and grab the readers attention without covering or taking away from the main image. I tried to make the sell lines give enough information for the buyer to want to read and find out more.

Splash
This is big and bold to make it stand out. It describes and tells us about the main image. It helps attract the reader to the magazine. It will hopefully make them want to read and find out more.

Footer
The footer bar states that there is revision techniques and tips inside this magazine which would be useful to the target market. There is also a price to show how much the magazine costs.

Pull Quote
The pull quote is to try get even more attention and make the reader want to find out why "Attendance is key" and see what else was said.

Main Image
The main image takes up a lot of the cover. The image is a photo of a student to go with the splash "Life as a student". This should appeal to the reader and stand out.
